Questions people ask
Is this business card maker really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no fee and no Spark logo on your cards. You can make as many cards as you like.
What size are the files?
Each side is 1125 × 675 pixels: a standard US card, 3.5 × 2 inches at 300 dpi, plus 1/8 inch of bleed on every side. The print shop trims the bleed off. Keep important words inside the safe area, the dashed line 1/8 inch inside the cut. Spark keeps your words inside it for you.
Will my print shop accept these files?
Most print shops take a 300 dpi PNG with 1/8 inch of bleed, but sizes and bleed differ from shop to shop, and cards outside the US are often 85 × 55 mm. Check with your print shop for their exact size and bleed before you order.
Can I print the cards at home?
Yes. “Print 10 per page” makes a Letter sheet with ten cards and small cut marks. Print at “Actual size” (100%) on card stock and cut along the marks. Page 2 holds the backs. Home printers can shift a little between the two sides, so a print shop gives cleaner two-sided cards.
What does the QR code do?
It opens your website when someone points a phone camera at it. The code holds your own link, with no redirect in between, so it keeps working as long as your website does. Scan a printed test before you print many.
Is my logo uploaded?
No. Your logo is read and drawn on your own device. Spark keeps the details you typed in this browser so they are here next time. Your logo is not saved, so add it again on your next visit.
