Is the name check widget free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no key and no fee. Copy the line of code and paste it into your page.
What happens when someone types a name?
The widget opens SparkMyName’s free name check in a new tab with that name filled in, and the check runs there. The widget itself does not save what people type.
Will it slow down my page?
The widget is one small page from sparkmyname.com, under 15 KB, with no ads. The code loads it only when the reader scrolls near it.
Where can I put it?
Anywhere that lets you add HTML: a blog post, a course page, a class website or a newsletter archive page. Most site builders have an “HTML” or “Embed” block for this.
Can I change the size?
Yes. The widget fills the width it is given, up to 560 pixels in the code above. Keep the height at about 220 pixels so the box and the button both show.
