Name your business worksheet

A one-page worksheet that walks you from “what do I sell?” to a name you can say, spell and actually use. Fill it in here on screen or print it blank and use a pen. It fits one page on Letter or A4 paper. No sign-up, no fee.

Your worksheet

Print it and fill it in by hand, or type on it here and then print. What you type stays in this browser only.

Example: this sheet is filled in for a made-up dog-walking business, so you can see how it works. Type over it, or tap “Start blank” for an empty sheet. The “free to use” checks are left empty on purpose: only a real search can tick them.

To keep a copy, pick “Save as PDF” in the print window. The sheet fits one page on Letter or A4 paper.

Questions people ask

Is the worksheet really free?

Yes. Print as many copies as you like. There is no sign-up and no fee.

How do I save it as a PDF?

Press “Print or save as PDF”, then choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. On an iPhone or iPad, tap the share button in the print window and choose Save to Files.

Will it fit on my paper?

It is made to fit one page on US Letter and on A4. If your printer still adds a second page, set the scale to “Fit to page” in the print window.

Can I fill it in on screen?

Yes. Type on the sheet here and then print; what you typed prints in the boxes. It is kept in this browser only, so you can come back later on the same device. “Start blank” clears it.

If all my checks pass, can I use the name?

Not for sure. The checks on the sheet are a first look. Domains and handles can be taken at any time, and a preliminary trademark screen is not legal clearance. Before you spend money on signs or a filing, ask a trademark attorney.
